Diogenes, a philosopher and a follower of Antisthenes, was known for his eccentricities and simplicity. He rejected material possessions and societal norms, advocating for a minimalist lifestyle. His encounter with Alexander the Great showcased his unconventional beliefs and values.

The philosophy of Epicureanism, based on the teachings of Epicurus, focused on pleasure as the absence of pain, achieving a stable and happy state of mind (ataraxia). Epicureans emphasized the pursuit of pleasure through moderation and the avoidance of fear and spiritual anxieties.

Stoicism, founded by Zeno of Citium, emphasized virtue as the key to a good life. Stoics believed in the indifferents of external circumstances like wealth and fame, focusing instead on inner tranquility and following nature's course.

Skepticism, characterized by doubt and questioning, challenged existing beliefs and sought to suspend judgment on matters that were uncertain. Skeptics aimed to avoid dogmatism and remained open to different perspectives and interpretations.
